Medical disclaimer
The guides on this site exist to help you walk into an appointment better informed and to make sense of a decision that is genuinely yours. What follows explains what that information is, and what it is not.
In an emergency, call 911. This site is not monitored and must not be used to report an urgent medical problem.
This site is education, not medical care
Everything published here, including the patient guides and the downloadable PDFs, is general educational information about hip and knee conditions and their treatment. It describes how Dr. Seem generally approaches these problems. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not medical advice for any particular person.
Medicine is specific. Two people with X-rays that look alike can need entirely different things, and the right answer depends on your history, your examination, your other medical conditions, and what you want your life to look like. None of that can be known from a web page.
Reading this does not make you a patient
Using this site, downloading a guide, or contacting the office through it does not create a physician-patient relationship between you and Dr. Seem. That relationship begins when you are seen in the office and Dr. Seem accepts you into his care.
For the same reason, please do not send personal medical details, images, or records through this website or by email expecting clinical advice in return. Questions about your own situation deserve an appointment, where they can be answered properly and in context.
Always talk to your own clinicians
Nothing here should be used to start, stop, or change a medication, to delay seeking care, or to disregard advice you have been given by a clinician who has actually examined you. Your surgical team, your primary care physician, your prescribers, and the facility where any surgery takes place all give instructions specific to you. Where those instructions differ from anything on this site, follow them, and ask if the difference concerns you.
Emergencies
This website is not monitored, and messages sent through it are not reviewed around the clock. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not use this site, email, or a contact form to report an urgent problem.
No promise of a particular result
Descriptions of procedures, technologies, recovery timelines, and implant longevity reflect typical experience and the best evidence available when the page was last reviewed. Individual results vary, and no outcome is guaranteed. Every operation carries risk, and the risks that matter for you are part of the conversation before surgery, not something a website can settle.
How current this information is
Medical understanding changes. The guides on this site are reviewed periodically by Dr. Seem, and each one shows the date it was last checked. This page was last reviewed in September 2026. If you are reading something that looks out of date, or that conflicts with what you have been told more recently, ask.
Links, brands, and reviews
This site links to hospitals, professional organizations, and third-party review sites that Dr. Seem does not control and is not responsible for. Product and technology names are used only to identify the equipment used in practice; no manufacturer endorses this site, and none is implied. Patient ratings shown here are published and maintained by the third-party services named alongside them.
Privacy
Do not send protected health information through this website. Any information you choose to send is handled with care, but ordinary email and web forms are not secure or HIPAA-compliant channels. The safest way to discuss anything about your own health is by phone or in person.
Questions about your own hip or knee?
That is what an appointment is for. New patients and second opinions are welcome.
